Blockman JOB at a number Pick n Pay shops round the country.
We are searching for an trip blockmans with at least 1 yr trip in butchery, ideally in a retail environment. Must be expert in preparation, reducing a variety of meat carcasses, de-boning all cuts of meat, manufacture mince, and produce sausage and boerewors, as nicely as have expertise of meat getting old techniques.
Minimum Requirements
1+ yr ride as a Blockman
Be bodily in a position to elevate carcasses and containers of meat.
Able to reduce / manufacture / produce a number meat merchandise e.g. loin chops, roast, etc., (This ability will be tested).
Able to work in a bloodless environment.
Relevant trip in a comparable role
Retail journey – advantageous
Duties & Responsibilities
Operate all Butchery Equipment inclusive of the Bandsaw.
Report any faulty equipment/utensils to the Butchery Manager.
Control, Merchandise and Promote inventory in accordance to laid down techniques and standards.
Prepare and smash a range of meat carcasses in accordance to laid down specifications.
De-boning all cuts of meat and Manufacture Mince / Produce Sausage and Boerewors.
Prevent wastage / shrinkage / damages.
Check temperatures and monitor/maintain the bloodless chain.
Provide the required product or offerings and manage clients in a courteous and businesslike manner.
Maintain a excessive stage of cleanliness and hygiene of butchery-related gear and utensils.
Assist with the receiving of meat from suppliers.
Assist with coaching personnel on more than a few new merchandise / lines.
